Types of Teacher Licenses in Utah

Professional Teacher License: Issued to educators who have completed all required education and training, and passed necessary assessments.

Local Education Agency (LEA) License: Specific to educators working under the direction of local school districts or charter schools, often with unique requirements and or in the process of obtaining a professional license through an educator prep or APEL (state alternative licensing pathway program).

Associate License: For prospective educators who are enrolled in an educator preparation program but have not yet completed it.

No License: Individuals teaching without a formal license.
